Property description

Christmas Cottage is situated in an enviable position on the edge of the traditional Northmaptonshire village of Bulwick, adjacent to beautiful, gently undulating, open countryside. Dating from the 1700s the cottage has been sympatheticly extended twice in more recent years (1980 and 2004) and retains character and style true to the oringal cottage. Built in stone under a thatched roof, the accommodation boasts a wealth of period features including an Inglenock fireplace, exposed beams and stonework, giving a warm and traditional feel throughout the property. Despite the cottage's age and character, it is currently not a listed building and is also beyond the village's conservation area.
From the main staircase, there is a large landing which doubles as an occasional fourth bedroom and two good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom with separate WC. A second staircase leading off the snug accesses the third bedroom.
Bulwick is a traquil village with a traditional shop (currently closed but due to re-open later in 2019), the Queens Head public house and St Nicholas church. The village is popular with all ages and is surrounded by outstanding countryside with numerous footpaths.
Corby is some 6 miles to the south west and offers a good range of everyday amenities including a high speed rail link to London. Oundle is just over 7 miles to the south east and Stamford 10 miles to the north. Both traditional market towns offer a wide range of recreation, education and shopping facilities.
To the front of the property the garden is bounded by a low stone wall with a lawn, well-established herbaceous borders and a large mature apple tree. A gravel driveway leads to a large single garage with up and over door and fitted lighting. The overall plot measure approximately 0.21 of an acre. The rear garden is in the main laid to lawn with established borders. The main garden enjoys an East-facing aspect with delightful open countryside
views beyond.
